New Year, Same Focus
Last night I was having a conversation with my boyfriend. No, it wasn't about New Years Resolutions. He challenged me: what's my purpose? I've always felt my life was meant to help others. In my career, that means focusing on the end client - the Family. The family who is in it's 4th, 5th or even 6th generation, challenged by how they are going to continue to amass wealth for their growing family. The family who recently sold a lucrative business and suddenly find themselves in a position of wealth they never dreamed possible. The family who is transitioning a burgeoning business to their next generation, or contemplating next steps. The philanthropic family who as means, but no vision for their legacy. Whether I'm working with advisors, private bank clients, or speaking at a conference, the goal is always to relieve pressure on the family so they can focus on what makes them unique - themselves.
I'm not convinced I'm meant to be an entrepreneur. And I'm not sure where 2018 will take my career, but I do know that I will maintain my focus, and no matter what comes next, the Family will always come first.
